Now that you understand what the SUBSYS is and how it relates to OEM Hardware Devices, its time to learn about Universal Drivers. An excellent example of a Universal Driver are Intel Video Drivers downloaded from Intel's Support. The link below will take you to the Intel Graphics downloads
Universal Drivers do not care where your device came from, and this is apparent when looking at the INF file itself. You can see the supported HardwareID's, and they do not care about the SUBSYS
Going back to my Device Manager you can see the Compatible Ids for my Intel Video Card. Since this matches the INF, the Driver will be applied
This means that Intel Video Drivers can be used on any computer in your Enterprise, with the downside being you will not gain any OEM Customizations that may be in your OEM provided Drivers
